Thursday, July 14, 2022, was our new leadership’s first meeting of Rotary Year 2022-23. With many new members inducted in the past few months, our new Club President, Dana Bales Wooten, has implemented a new activity for each meeting, so we all get to know our members a little better–Member Spotlight! The first victim, or rather volunteer, was our new President-Elect, James Woodall.
James came into the room wearing a USAF pilot’s flight suit and sunglasses and claimed, “I feel the need…the need for speed.” Ok, that’s Navy, but with the recent release of the new Top Gun movie, it was appropriate and got a laugh!

James started by giving us Two Truths & a Lie about himself to get to know him better:

1. Had a TV spotlight segment
2. Has trained celebrities
3. Is a retired fighter pilot

Even wearing the authentic flight suit, he didn’t fool us; the Club got the answer right. He explained the truths and the lie to get to know him better.

James is the owner of Woodall’s Fitness and Performance Center, and he previously lived in Las Vegas, so It didn’t surprise us to learn that James trained celebrities. And his lie? He is NOT a retired fighter pilot, but his father, James W. Woodall, Sr., is. James’ father, call sign “Woody,” is a retired fighter pilot, and it was his flight suit that James was wearing.

It was a lot of fun, and everyone learned a little more about James! Who will be next? Stay tuned…
