Today we had an excellent program presented by Gary Cunha, a Suicide Prevention Coordinator at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Gary enlightened us about the staggering statistics on suicide amongst Veterans, what the signs are to recognize someone who might be contemplating suicide, and how to help/talk to them. At the end of his program, Gary accepted, on behalf of the organization Stop Soldier Suicide, our donation of $5000. The donation was a portion of the proceeds our Club received from the 2021 JoCo Flags For Heroes flag sponsorships.
